The most important center which must be unfolded and developed in our journey to enlightenment is the heart center. The heart center puts you in contact with the heart of the planet, the heart of the solar system, and the heart of the galaxy. Through your heart chakra circulates the flow of creation of all these places and unifies us with the divine love of the one cosmic heart. When our heart is awakened to the love of the cosmic heart great mastery unfolds and our ability to transcend density and attune to the higher forces of love magnifies. We no longer operate from separatism but from unity consciousness where every deed, thought, and action contributes to the whole of creation like each note that makes up a beautiful symphony.
The Creator has gifted us with tools to help us on our journey to remembering the truth that we are love. One of these tools is “Gratitude”. Gratitude is a very important activator of the heart center and assists us in awakening and attuning to the higher hearts and the One Cosmic Heart. “Gratitude” creates a state of consciousness within you that releases chemicals in the body that support health and vitality. We all know the old adage that you are what you think. Think happy thoughts and you are healthy. Think unhappy thoughts and you are unhealthy. When we engage in thoughts and actions of love, forgiveness and gratitude it has a panacea effect on the mind, body and soul. It opens doors to higher levels of divinity within us that are ever expansive. The more we engage in love, forgiveness and gratitude the higher states of love we achieve.
Gratitude releases accumulated tensions from our mental, emotional and etheric bodies and lets our body relax and feel happy. Gratitude releases loving energy into our systems and revitalizes it. Gratitude produces chemicals in the brain which remove the elements that cause depression. Our society is pill happy. Every time we experience a problem in our life, we are told to pop a pill to solve it. If we practiced love, forgiveness and gratitude on a daily basis we would not experience the obstacles of sickness, depression and inertia on our path. If we practiced love, forgiveness and gratitude on a daily basis there would be a continuous stream of joy and opportunities available to us. Gratitude increases physical health, increases joy and clears our vision, logic and understanding. By changing, refining and transforming our consciousness, we start a great process of healing our whole system.
A great sage once said, “When you find a person, a family or a group that is healthy and prosperous, you will see that a great spirit of gratitude is circulating in them.” Ingratitude creates a state of consciousness that disturbs the body’s chemistry, creating chaos to your glands, feelings, judgments and thinking. Ingratitude toward life and others creates a negativity polarity and rejects beneficial forces and attracts dis-ease. Gratitude makes you magnetic, beautiful and joyful. Your magnetism created through your gratitude attracts love, light, trust and brings you success on many levels.
Gratitude is a virtue that everyone can develop by trying to appreciate life and by being open to the discovery of how life presents us great gifts. Gratitude is an expression of thankfulness and if we can find three things to be thankful for everyday, we start to shift and transform our life. By just thinking of three things we are thankful for each day, we create a magnetism of a positive polarity that repels negativity and attracts more joy into our lives.
I remember once when I was in college, I took a study break and was flipping through the T.V. channels and I landed on Oprah. It was one of those divinely guided synchronicities. Oprah was talking about the power of gratitude to transform one’s life. She had an author on who wrote a book on increasing abundance in your life through gratitude. I don’t recall the author’s name or the book, but what I found important from that show was the idea of an “abundance journal.” The idea was for you to keep a little notebook with you at all times or at you bedside and to write in it daily at least three things that you were grateful for that day. This may sound like a simple task but it was difficult at first. If your whole life is geared toward seeing the glass half empty, you’re lucky if you can think of one thing to be grateful for that day. Despite difficulty at first, I persevered and after a few weeks, I was generating lists of things to be grateful for. I also noticed that my “glass half empty” attitude turned into a “glass half full” attitude and I was attracting more and more joyful and positive experiences into my life. So much so, that even 15 years later I still practice daily gratitude. I have to confess that I only kept that journal for about two months but as the gratitude changed my polarity, I found that I didn’t need to keep a journal any more. I just made it a point to find things everyday to be thankful for.
Today, I practice the spirit of gratitude every time I get into my car, I thank Mother Nature for her love, beauty and healing. I’m grateful if I see a hawk fly by or a beautiful sunset. Without nature, what beauty would we have to appreciate in our lives? It’s not like I have time to go and sit at a park everyday reveling in the beauty of Mother Nature, I do all this while driving on the highway as part of my daily commute. The key is to find the beauty where ever you are and be grateful that you got to witness it or be a part of it. I allow myself to be open to the gifts that life presents and I thank the Creator for it.
Other Gratitude Builders:
- Write a list of all things you are grateful for in your life and review it daily. By recalling these positive memories you create that positive polarity to bring you new joyful experiences.
- Think of the special people in your life, your friends, family, mates and think of the things you are grateful for. Think of the jobs, children, experiences you have had, including the successes and achievements in your life.
- Have gratitude for all those who work for us, who help us, who teach us, who inspire us, who protect us and who love us.
- Fill this sentence in every day, “Lord/Creator/GOD, thank you for_________”.
i.e. Lord thank you for this beautiful day, thank you for the close parking spot in front of Walmart, thank you for this tree that shades my yard from the hot sun, thank you for the kind man who held the door open for me when my hands were full, thank you for my child, husband/wife/mate who without I would not know love. The possibilities are endless!
If you start each day with 1-3 things you are grateful for, it will create a spirit of gratitude that will generate a positive polarity in your energy fields, making you magnetic to joyful experiences. The more you practice gratitude, the more it will become automatic and effortless and the more you will awaken your heart until you become one with the cosmic heart of creation.
